Heath Ledger's Last Interview

The Late Heath Ledger with his daughter Matilda back in August 2007

With not enough information yet determine definitively whether or not Heath Ledger's death was an accident, authorities have since removed the 28-year-old actor's body from his Soho apartment where he was found hours ago by his housekeeper. He was reportedly discovered naked in his bed, with sleeping pills strewn about. An autopsy is scheduled to take place tomorrow at the medical examiner's office. His family has revealed that he was sick with pneumonia.

Heath starred as Joker in the Warner Bros. film, "The Dark Knight," which recently wrapped production and the studio has released a statement in reaction to the loss of their star. "The studio is stunned and devastated by this tragic news. The entertainment community has lost an enormous talent. Heath was a brilliant actor and an exceptional person. Our hearts go out to his family and friends."

Here are some pictures of Heath from last summer and his now two-year-old daughter, Matilda. In a strangely coincidental foreshadowing of his untimely demise, Heath said in a recent interview, "I feel good about dying because I feel alive through her." After the jump, we've also got video of one of Heath's last interviews (the one in which he mentions the death reference), and he also appears to be extremely restless. It was taken during the promotion of the Bob Dylan biopic, "I'm Not There."

So so sad. His career was really starting to get interesting and to see it cut short is a shame. His passing along with Brad Renfro's is so tragic. Here's a recent interview of Heath talking about death and his own mortality.

Oh my god, I can't believe this!
It came out of nowhere, as far as I knew anyway.

I hope at least that some of those other fucking idiots (starletards) that take drugs are in some way alerted to the similarities in their situation.
But for all we know they could just be jealous that he made headlines. *eyeroll*

So sad...to see the last picture taken of Heath ( it was taken yesterday), go to WhyFame.com

Today started with me telling one of my clients "It's a weird day." I felt a cold chill come over my body when I read this headline on CNN and then went to Socialite's Life. I am in shock. I have a feeling Heath was such a good person. Like so many of us, he just may have been in a dark place. One thing is for sure, his body of work is amazing and the world has lost a great actor. May he rest in peace.

The cynic in me thinks the studio is doing flips as this will only increase the box office for the Batman movie.

I was absolutely devastated. i dont believe that he took his own life... he was going places. he had A DAUGHTER for crying out loud.

and the indications arent even suicidal. no note. he was naked! it must've been something really weird.

I think he is out of words..............AND TIME!!

Is it sad? Sure.

Did we lose a Mensa mind? NO.

A cure for cancer? NO.

Talented? NO.
The only movie he was known for is Brokeback.
Any A or B list actor would have gotten the same reaction.
It was the movie that was the draw, not the actors.

You want to mourn someone? Mourn someone one who busted their ass for someone other than themselves.

Last week everyone was talking about what a self-absorbed balding ass-hole this guy was, now everyone loved him.

Hypocrites.

Dear Um, yeah

Perhaps you miss the point. There is a word that can by times escape most of us. It is called "Humanity". Today it has escaped you.

1) Opinions on his acting ability are subjective. Many thought he was extraordinary

2) All or nothing statements are distortions of fact "everyone thought he was an asshole..." now "everyone loves him" neither statement is true. Your own words prove that clearly not "everyone" loves him.

3) You have no idea what kind of a man he was and are basing your views on what the media has presented of him.

FACT: He was a father, son, friend and loved one to many, many people. His passing offers a time for people, friends and family to reflect on the loss of life.

Just because he does not matter to you does not make "everyone" else hypocrites.

The only thing I agee with you on is that we all need do alot more mourning for the world we are living in and our collective loss of humanity.

respect - bravo. As I read comments on different sites pertaining to this story and other (i.e. Amy Winehouse), I am astonished at the cruelty of other humans. It is really very disturbing.

It probably was not a suicide. People don't make appointments when they plan on taking their lives. Could have been a mix of sleep aids or a combination of his illness and accumulation of medicines.

I still feel so sad about it.
I love him, he was a great actor, I can't believe he died for real, it's so strange.

Rest In Peace Heath!

Um yeah, I think you completely missed the point. Did Heath Ledger invent a vaccine used to treat incurable diseases? Um no! But the whole point of acting is to mirror back to the audience their own humanity and Heath Ledger did that very well. Not only did he do it through his acting but also by the kind of person he was in real life. His many friends, co-workers and even wait staff in restaurants attested to that. So don't be a numb-nuts and get the point!

i've heard and read alot of interviews with heath and about him and michelle williams said something that really stuck with me "He was a gentle and sensitive soul" and I get the feeling he really was. He wrote poems and loved to take pictures and make picture diaries with them. I've heard so much crap talked about the poor guy, especially sense he died. You would think it would be the other way around, that they would be talking about how cool a person he was and how good an actor he was, not trash talking. Give the guy a break he is oviously dead and can't defend himself.

"May God hold you tight until I can meet you there!"

Does everyone know that he died because of an accident with a notorious sleeping medication ( Ambien) The last i heard was that because of many of the batman scenes were in the dark ( As you would expect) He just needed some sleep so he started using a stronger sleeping pill and took one too many.

Just checking, because i saw a few comments saying he killed himself. He clearly didn't do it on purpose.

Jack nicholson also took ambien and if you look deep enough on youtube you can find a video of his response to heith ledgers death, he just says " I warned him".
