Katie Holmes is reportedly now going by Kate. On a list of celebrity attendees at the upcoming Costume Designers Guild Awards, the actress is listed under the category of presenters as Kate Holmes. When we contacted her PR rep, we were told that it was a typo. But, other sources tell us that her people have been instructed that Mrs. Cruise has adopted the more Oscar-friendly moniker of Kate. She was first famously referred to as Kate by her now movie star hubby, Tom Cruise, back in his "I love this woman!" days.
Oh lord. The transformation is almost complete.

Too bad she didn't have the "Kate" going in the run up to the Oscar noms... She totally would've got a nod for Mad Money. Ha. Kate suits her non-smiling, robotic new demeanor much better than Katie. Katie is a fun name. She (lately) does not look fun.
