I've got nothing against prostitution as a profession. it's been around a LONG time and, yes, as long as men are willing to pay women for sex, it will continue to exist. frankly, it would be safer for all involved if it were legal, but regulated.

And you're exactly right -- society did not force this girl into this profession, as others have suggested. She chose it (while trying to get famous, no less). Most of us make an honest living by using our brains, personality, and HARD WORK. She just found an easy way to make quick cash. That's all. I hope to God that none of the young kids I know and love ever feel the need to exploit themselves and their bodies for a buck or two.

if you look at my original comment, i never said mr. spitzer wasn't to blame. but this 22 year old woman is, by definition, a whore. when you have sex in exchange for money, that is a whore. i think the media just needs to cool off on the whore coverage, constantly showing her myspace photos, trying to make her into the new paris hilton/kim kardashian/etc. spitzer broke the law, but so did she. there are plenty of good, honest, hard-working women and men out there who don't resort to selling their bodies for sex, like it is some kind of product, and have self-respect.
